I’m Done With WordPress.

Bangin’Bangkok.

I’ll be away until next Friday, 11 January.
Till then, goodbye.

From Above.

I want to elaborate the difference between
Knowledge and Wisdom
I wrote about few posts ago.
For a rewind,
‘Knowledge is horizontal.
Wisdom is vertical,
It comes from above.’
So how do I know if it’s
FROM ABOVE?
I found the answer in the book of James:
‘But the wisdom that is from above is first
Pure,
then Peaceable,
Gentle,
Willing to Yield (or Submissive),
Full of Mercy and Good Fruits,
Without partiality and
Without hypocrisy.’
A mouthful,
But what a package of revelation.
Then if I want to be a wiser person,
I’d learn how to appreciate differences and seek common ground with people.
I’d want to be an agreeable negotiator.
When I have to make a stand, I debate but not argue.
A gentle answer calms an angry man.
I’d forgive quickly when I am offended.
I’d freely give grace
As I’ve been freely given grace.
And from these,
My relationships with people
At home,
In school,
At work,
In society,
And everywhere I go,
Will benefit others,
Will be
Fruitful.

Chopped.

A Brief Respite.

Wisdom Is.

I never thought Wisdom and Happiness come together.
We think very quickly how knowledgeable people are mostly….unhappy.
I wouldn’t say mostly, but it’s true intelligence doesn’t equal to joy.
It’s said the more you know, the more depressed you are.
It sometimes gets neurotic huh.
I read about what Billy Graham has to say about this
And he’s differentiated knowledge and wisdom right on the bull’s eye -
‘Knowledge is horizontal.
Wisdom is vertical.
It comes down from above.’
Knowledge is passed on from human to human.
You get it from school and textbooks.
But the transaction remains on level ground,
Rather, there’s a distinct limit to where our minds can elevate to.
But Wisdom,
It can be received from others,
But only those who seeks and finds Wisdom from the only Source.
And then St. Augustine takes it further -
‘No one is truly happy
If he has what he wants,
But only if
He wants something
He should have.’
‘If he has what he wants’…
What I want….
Yes, my selfish ambition doesn’t bring me any good all the time.
I read last night,
That where there is selfish ambition,
There you will find disorder.
If I want happiness,
I must pursue what I know I should have.
What should I have?
What should I own?
Show me from above.
I seek what is Eternal.

Eagles Fly Alone.

I know why people do crazy things
When they are lonely.
I know why there are workaholics.
I understand why some want to break away and hide.
I know why some just want to die.
It’s okay, it’s alright.
Just have another day,
Chase your dream.
You will meet new people.
You will learn new things.
You will be more beautiful.
You will own more things.
You will be better.
You can be happier.

Curse Of Maintenance.

The Domino’s CEO said
The problem with large organisations is how after
Experiencing a breakthrough,
They become complacent
By trying to maintain their success.
I think, sometimes,
We rehearse our past victories
And depend on them as a backdrop for looking good.
It’s okay to take time and savour our history,
But it’s a hazard to insist on reliving the past.
Felt the disappointment and frustration of watching a repeated episode when you expected a new one?
Yea, Hallmark and Starworld are the biggest criminals of re-runs.
When it’s time to change,
Repetition of the past shows how incompetent one is.
Then what should be the concept?
I think the concept is to be Better,
Instead of staying as good as yesterday.
It’s not about maintenance only.
It’s when you’re steady at the present level,
You get set for the next,
And you Move up.
 Today must be better.
For me,
2007 was initially
Not too bad > Just Okay> Transformational in SOT> Topsy-Turvy>Disastrous>AWESOME.
So 2008,
It better get better.
It will be better.

Regal Legacy.

[Pardon this crowd of paragraph. WordPress' caught up in a hiccup]
You got to watch //I AM LEGEND.
Few quotes from the movie I’ve picked out to share with you:
”They work hard to destroy this world everyday,
We can’t afford to take a day off.”
”God didn’t do this. We did it.”
”It’s been so quiet. Why don’t you stop and listen? God has a plan for us.”
These days movies have taken a turn into the serious stuff.
Although I prefer comedy,
I really appreciate the flow of astoundingly essential messages that films are carrying across lately.
Watch WARLORDS if you need a double confirmation.
Work on New Year’s Eve!
No, AXN isn’t a slave driver.
Fun is Work.
Work is Fun.

Deluxe Domain.

The last weekend of 2007’s well spent.
In a flash,
I smile at the surety of how it only gets better every year.
Ever since I’ve come back home with Daddy,
My life is always advancing forward.
Going through trials and challenges are definitely part of the package.
Otherwise,
Without any challenge,
how can you say have broken through?
Without any problems,
how can you say you’re a problem solver?
Being clueless is one of the worse position I think anyone can be in.
I used to stare blankly at any problem that drops before me.
If I know what to do, awesome.
If I don’t know what to do, then it’s just too bad.
Ooooh, thinking about it just irks me.
You know,
When you are connected to the Wisest Person,
The Creator of Knowledge and Truth,
You will never settle for ‘clueless-ness’.
You will never sit down when a problem is lurking nearby.
And I have learnt,
That I should never ignore it,
But confront it,
And detangle every knot of the mess.
Once you get into this practice,
You are never gonna look at problem the same way again.
You’ll see problem as your opportunity to advance to another level.
You’ll, really, develop an appreciation for problems and challenges.
There’ll be pain and frustration,
But just let it work you out.
‘Cos only coarse surfaces can smoothen you up.
Besides these,
I’m eyeing my 2008 with glee.
I can expect the best of it from my Daddy.
And I know it shall be more victorious,
More glorious,
As long as I choose to walk in this
Narrow way.
Thank You, Dada, I love You.
