A Beautiful Mind

This film artfully draws me into the wonderment of our minds.
And yet we have a higher being who has thoughts that are higher than ours, and ways that we cannot fathom.
It is said men’s wisdom is foolishness to him.
It is known that when men’s hearts are darkened, his wisdom is foolishness to them.
Who can number our hair?
Who can count the blankets of stars?
Who can command the winds and direct the harmony of the waves?
Who’s feet threads deeper than the pitch-black seas where neon marine beasts swim?

TV Rots The Senses In Your Head

……It kills imagination dead, wrote my favourite author, Roald Dahl.
Child of Our Time is an exception, though.
That was a worthwhile distraction from Media Law revision (15% test tmr!)
Talking about imagination, what we did today was thrilling.
We saw pictures and words
I saw a beautiful blue and green bird in an opened cage, in ignorance of its freedom.

If Darkness Is The Light In Your Heart

Head-knowledge must be followed by personal experience.
Without application, you can never understand the power of knowledge.
Your heart only comprehends it when your actions respond to the information in your mind.
THE LIGHT CALLED DARKNESS
How awful a human is
How ugly we have made us be
No work can make us clean
No charity
No diligence
No talent
If there is a light in one’s heart
Darkness is its name
It binds the life with barbs
That threatens to hurt others when struck
The soul scurries to survive
It ploughs through day and night in vain
How the sun stings the back of the slaves
Beyond the eyes of these living ghosts
The hero has come to save
He brings a promise
Sealed, and sworn according to his name
Weathering thousands of years, not one word has faded away
Many have received and lived
Many, too, are still captives
Those whose hearts bear a light
Called Darkness

Reliving Sweet Childhood Dayouts

A sort of excited has been bubbling somewhere on my inside today.
I was thrilled to meet my mother, have her pick me up from school, babysit me through the brain-scan at the Neuroscience Institute of TTS, dine with me at Uncle Patrick’s and perhaps catch a movie together at Lido.
Reality fell into all that I desired it to be, except the last activity I thought we’d be doing together.
Mum zipped in, shanshan hopped on, said hello and off we hurried to TTS

The wait was horrid at TTS. My appointment was stretched to sixty minutes!

It was worthwhile though, Dr Timothy Young was so entertaining through the consultation, it was the most refreshing experience I had going to the doctor’s.

Even mother was left amused and speechless.

You can see he bears a fire for treating patients. How he speaks with precision, leans forward to listen, raises his eyebrows and makes agreement with his eyes. In three weeks, I will meet Dr Timothy again =)

AND FINALLY…

YUMMAYYY!!!

Sashimi has never tasted to good.

This is another level of freshness.

But this is still my favourite

Japanese Avocado Salad

The only dish I didn’t capture is the green tea and red bean ice cream!

But really, after all these, we couldn’t stomach anymore food.

So we decided to hit the shops downtown and we came back, hand-fulls of shopping bags.

This is one day I treasure.

I hope for more days like this with mum.

She danced in her car seat, sang like a diva and drummed on the steering wheel as if she was a tribal woman. It was so much fun spending time with her!

I love you mummy.

A Better Day
Yahlan’s surprise visit threw me off a little today.
It was a lovely sight of her doleing out chocoloates to the youths after the meeting.
The youths were bashful but curious about her.
I am very proud of them.
Watching them cackle, tease and scramble around during play melts me to the core.
There are snippets of what we did together in my camera but the card reader is not capturing any data into my laptop – grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I’ll share them with you as soon as I can.
For now, have a look at our past pictures:

one saturday night

Tomorrow, I’ll be having a brain scan at the Neuroceutical Institute of Tan Tock Seng Hospital. This time, we’re getting to the root of the intermittent headaches!

Looking forward to tomorrow…

It’s all about “keep on keeping on”.

QUIT QUITTING

Like shuffling feet, today is coming regretfully to an end.

Aunt Zoe picked me up to the doctor’s for a referral to a brain specialist this afternoon. Alot of waiting made my day more painful.

When the headache strikes me, there is zilch to do.
Focusing becomes a challenge I want to take control. It is impossible to live another minute without doing what I know I need to do.
Tomorrow will be a better day. It better be a better day.
Let it be a better day
